Left the beach at 5.30, with youg Claude as crew, the Wizard and Jigkid joined us in his boat. The intention was to get the last two hours of the out going tide and bag a K or two.
Coffee and a fag, lights of Waikanae in the back ground

Once on the spot, the sounder went nuts, lit up like a christmas tree with sign. First drop resulted in a quad hook, the next hour went off, tangeled lines, lost terminal gear and a rod over board. Lucky Jigkids asist caught the Wizards fuel line and he was able to haul it back - reel needs a service now aey ..... Its on my desk in a mllion pieces but I just ran out of Heinekin m8Wink
Jigkid and The Wizard in action

Once the action died, we went wide in search of an albie, tik or puka, we didnt really care which. Met up with Torcea 20k out, the usual flow of xos tiks went in the bin.

The seaward side of Kapiti Island

When the bite slowed, I looked up just in time to see Torcea launch off his waka like a torpedo, after his rod that had just ben wrenched out of his hand by what turned out to be a 60kg pluss 4m thresher. He surfaced with it in hand, shark still attached so we belted over to assit him. Clap Marvellous catch that, got em got em sprang to mind. The shark eventually pulled the hook, but not before we all had a god look
Another reel that needs a service. No albies but what a day of chaos LOLLOLLOL
The Wizard has more photos, look forward to seeing them.
Claud giving the shark death, Torcea had to catch his breath
Torcea back in his waka putting the slipper in Angry
Just shut up and fish !

Hi Ahole, the guys in the white Stabi here. Yeah what a morning. We though we were going to have the place to ourselves leaving the beach at 5:45 until we saw you guys at the bank. LOL Glad to know we're not the only crazies.

Was a magical morning watching the sun come up, and was great to get into some intense close quarters jigging action with you guys, our thanks the young fella for pointing out the 'spot', I think there was a time there when all 6 of us were hooked up, awesome stuff. Clap

After you guys shot out wide things went very quiet and stayed that way. Then boat loads of spearo's turned up and parked themselves on top of the reef and we went south. Home by 11 with a full days fishing under the belt... awesome.
