Has anyone been out for a dive recently or have an idea on what the vis is like. I struggle with vis predictions just looking at the weather. Was thinking pania... or anywhere really.

Hi im down in napier form now till about 30th and would like to try get out for a dive. I don't have a lot of experience and only have a pole spear. What would be some likely places to try from shore and whats the vis like at the moment? Just really keen to get out and see whats about and if I get something then thats a bonus. Ive heard pourerere can be alright but never been out there. Would this place be alright for a beginner?

pourerere would be ideal, plenty of sheltered bays and plenty of paua and crays about and can be good for butters and moki.

You could get 10 legals in the rock pools if you look hard enough but otherwise as shallow or as deep as you want
