Ive got a couple of days in the Mount before xmas any pointers for a spot to live bait a kingi within walking distance of pilot bay? Best point in the tide would be good if im not pushing my luck to far...

Around the channel markers is a good staring point, Just keep an eye out for boats as they can rip through the harbour. Or paddel over the matakana island and float your livie of the sand bank into the entrance of the harbour, drops straight into deep water and better than spending your time dodging boats

Yeah slidebaiting from Punipuni point would be a good option. Have to watch your line angle for boat traffic but as Jono says drops off on fairly steep gradient on the corner there.
