Hi
SK4. Snapped bout 50cms from tip - Since replaced.
Reading here

I figured I would sacrifice an old BBE 10-15 KG rod and attempt a fix on the broken tip section
Currently working off scenario two for method as seems closest to what I need
"2. A 6-weight fly rod, broken about a foot from the tip, between the second and third guide."
Two questions:
How translatable are the instructions given they were written for a Fly rod and not a surfcaster
Will the use of carbon fibre cloth and epoxy be a comparable sleeve solution compared to a sleeve made from a wider section od the BBE? That is, use a short piece inside the sonik to join as scenario two suggests but then use the CF tape and epoxy externally.
If it doesn't work I have lost little except for time and the BBE has given it's guides up gracefully for a future rewrap I have in mind to convert a jelly tip from spin to O/head
Any thoughts/insight/advice is/are welcomed.
