I'm fairly sure they don't give a flying f&*k that they're going to be put on a list, they know exactly what they're doing and with the capacity to travel around the globe on a tank of gas means they'll never worry about confiscation or seizure.

The Chinese govt play the same games as they Russians, they'll lie straight to your face, even smirking as they do, then carry on because they know nothing's going to be done about it out of fear that they'll pull other trade perks.

Ships declared to be IUU vessels run the risk of having their catches seized and ships arrested.

love to know who is going to enforce the above?
Australia maybe, but the Chinese will then send War ships to protect the fleet then what?
WAR?
because that is the only way your likely to stop them, the ocean they are fishing has no restrictions except what has been drawn up on paper with no real accountability to stop the pillaging,

it will keep going till the last fish has gone and that includes Marlin Tuna Mackerel all gone within the next 4 to 5 years...

then what?
start infringing on NZ waters, sneak in and take a boat load here and there like they have done to African nations,
can we stop them? no we have no means to, so it will happen you can bet on it..

Thanks for everything you did for us Eric. may you rest in peace, You were one of the real legends of NZ recreational fishing

Time to buy some long distance fighters I reckon.

Do feel for some of the crew on those boats though. Pretty much slave labour.
