We've decided (as Tagit said) that the current tank we have is not enough Fresh water, have measured up an area in the bow to fit another tank.
900mm L x 460mm W x 210mm H
Had a couple of quotes so far, WOW both around the $600 mark, waiting on one more.
Do these sound expensive or is it just me? might have to go for a cheaper 'standard size' one

$600 doesn't sound much different to what I have had quotes for unfortunately Jem. One option we used on a boat was to fit a bladder into a space that we lined with plywood. Worked fine, but probably only slightly cheaper than buying the tank anyway.

Yeah that's my other option Dave, I've seen bladders way cheaper but a bit big for where I want to put it so either have to see if we can alter where it's going, or, what would happen if it was put in a smaller space (obviously won't fill completely) but will it harm/damage the bladder?

I don't think the partial fill should be a problem. We have a boat that has been on a bladder for 7 or 8 years now and I doubt that it get's fully filled that often. Bladder is still fine.

Just knock up a ply 'coffer box' and put that in it. Use some resin filler to cove the inner box corners and put some paint over the internal timber in case the bladder sweats a little. Best to have a small drain from the box to the bilge as well for the same reason, but probably not a major if you can't.

Yep that looks like the way Dave, a drain to the bilge is no problem as just behind where bladder is to go is a wet box from the drain in the floor of the head, and a bilge pump from there out.

Did you get your water tank sorted? I can make you one for $375 cash, or plus gst if you want an invoice. White polyprop plastic 5mm thick. Thats for a bare tank, depends on what fittings you need fitted. Also I am in Papamoa so would need to sort out how to get it to you.
These are 2 of the 5 tanks I made & installed to our motorhome.

Thanks for that Dale, at this stage we are just going to fill containers and store up front, and fill as we need.
