Well I never had looked at these though I guess they would do the job at a more affordable price aye.....Have you used one of these D1Racer?

Well I think I'm going to opt for the 2500 series reel as it just feels better matched with the BBE rod and way lighter so reckon it would be good for salt and fresh water....Which model is my next decision to make!!!!

Yes be great to buy a 2500 with a spare spool though does anyone know which model does this now?

How do you find the 2500 Penn conflict reel Rotate?....I'm a bit of a Shimano fan though I do like Penn as well tho seems there is more choice in the Shimano range

Haven't used one yet, but it's next on my buy list for light straylining sessions. I've used some of Shimano's cheaper reels and rate them highly. A Shimano Zieda 2500 I picked up for $30 on special as a bait reel had no problem with plagues of rat kingi's.

yea i like it,smooth as,light only $150 on ebay.retail here $250-300. i think it was o2fish, is using his for softbaiting.and would be the man to ask about how its held up as hes had is for sometime.i havnt used mine in saltwater .its my first penn reel.i bought it as in that price range and size it looks badass LOL

Yes it does look like a very nice reel as well as having 7+1 sealed stainless ball bearings...:-)
