hi, am building a rod wrapping/drying machine and wondering what would be a good connector between the rod butt and the motor

was thinking something like a cup with foam inside, i also saw on a video on youtube where they were using some sorta rubber orifice

also if anybody has a good idea other then felt or rollers for the middle and end stands which the rod sits on and rotates would be useful to me.

I just use gimbal cap modified to attach to the motor shaft, cheap and simple.

Wrap tape around the butt and jam it in.

Anyone know where I can find EVA butt caps? Ideally a small tapered one with indie dia of 12mm.

ok i have used a gimble cap and just shoved the shaft of my stepper motor through it. turns ok!

going to wire up some buttons and a character lcd to control rotation speed/direction and a pause

for the support leg im using an upside down plastic pot plant container which has a groove under it, and threw on a tea towel so the rod does not get damaged by rotating overnight..
