twist the leader arond the braid 2 times between the thumb and forfinger... then start sort of platting up the V made of the braid with a foot on the leader reel to tension.  over the outside of one side , up the middle, over the other side around and up the middle......giving a slight jerk/ pull to form the plates and keep reasonably tight.....
All the plates done, tigh off the leader tag with a 1/2 hitch. un tangle the braid from around your finger, pull up tight with main line and leader......then a couple  finish 1/2 hitches with the main line tag, and finish with a 3 turn back uni.. in a similar manners finishing the bimini.

 well less than a minute.

this is what i changed to  year ago after the bimmi and improved albright.beats it hands down in strength and speed to tie.i have actually replaced doing pr knots with this aswell now.

Is this similar to what this French dude is showing?

yes....except instead of making a loop and both ends around the little finger.....the tag end around the around the thumb... that way u know every time to do the 1st 1/2 hitch to initially lock off the plat around the braid tag end..
The final finish knot is interesting..whipping , sort of snood (?) as on a fish hook.. it does bulk up the rear a little more...
I dont like melting ends heat can quickly mes with line strength around the knot...
With the leader end facing towards reel, its not an issue casting....
melting the braid back a small soft braid tag facing back is also not an issue
And the final finishing know, with lots loops is not for strength, just to hold everything small and tight...even if a tag pulls thru sightly its still not an issue anywhere

Yes that is basically what I described as easy way to tie a FG.
I turn the leader thru rather than twist the braid.. turning the leader thru, keeping "small distance in length between the thumb and forefinger"  and "practice doing it on the rod" using the reel clutch for tension....one can pull up the plaits on every complete turn
