Hey,

I'm new to fishing in Auckland, I've been out to Kawakawa bay fished off one of the points from low tide through till after high tide. Not sure what is called, but is pretty much the further most point, at high tide the water surrounds it like a small island.

I've also fished off the one a little further back, both fished from an hour to low tide right through till an hour after high tide. Not one fish, lots of small bites but really nothing special.

I've been told it's produced fish, but I've never caught anything there. Where else can you fish from a land based spot in Auckland region?

Also, Goat island reserve, how close can I fish to it?

Pakiri beach, there's a few rocks just outside the reserve area, but can I fish there?

any help, and even possibly the odd spot or two would be good. Cheers

hi mate few spots,... end of hanmer street in the city at the end of the road recomend fishing at incoming to high tide then current starts getting pretty strong and pulls your line back towards the rocks, black rocks between milford and takapuna beaches can be fished at any time at low walk out the the farthest points cast over the kelp reefs and reel in fast to avoid snags iv sat there for hours the bites are not consistent but if something takes your bait its gona be something good! look on google earth and look 4 potential spots try find the deepest places you can cast to from the shore

Yeah,Google earth can help you a lot...Unless & until you have physically experienced fishing in any spot, you can't be sure about that place....
