Ok so here i go. I laugh alot when mates experienced or not moan and
moan at loosing softbaits and crap like that so this thread is for ideas
simple complicated or not about how to prevent slippage and lost lures
here at my ways. All pretty simple these apply to wormhooks.

5" inch lures - 7" inch lures - All Grubs
1. Running rig 1/2oz bullet sinker can run free or can be pegged into position
owner 4/0 wide gap lus worm hook. Have used lots and becauce the eye
of the hook sits inside the lure its just like having a hook keeper and stops
fish from sucking it off the hook and sits more secure and better on a hook
then having the eye exposed. Rig does not tangle on itself even with the
free running sinker that i have found. Also find when you hook up on some
hard fighting snapper the lure runs up the hook and sits on the trace
away from the snappers mouth preventing damage while fighting the fish.

7" Lures - Suggest going the next size worm hook down as it sits inside the
lures it sits further back but 7/0 wormhook is pictured and sits very well.

5" Lures - Suggest going the next size worm hook down as it sits inside the
lures it sits further back.

Grubs Gulp - Suggest going the next size worm hook down as it sits inside the
lures it sits further back and you dont want the hook to close to the grub tail
as it creates a weak point otherwise it sits very well with pleanty of hook gape
exposed.

Grubs Zman - Suggest going the next size worm hook down as it sits inside
the lures it sits further back. The Zmans are very strong resiliant lures and
its ok to have the hook sit at the thin part before the tail.

Something pinching your bait auw!!! but you just throw on a new one to
feed it? Squid, Leather jackets or small snappers. if you see sharp little
groves its most likly a Squid so throw on a squid jig and get some of them
suckersgreat livebaits for munter snappers, kinky kingfish or awesome
kai moana.Heres how i rig mine when the squid wont piss off. These are
Yo-Zuri 3 1/2" and also a 4 1/2" lures retail is $18 each but they are very
strong wont rust when thrown back into the tacklebox for afew months
and work great in day time and awesome at nightime.

Know what you mean about the squiddies hitting the gulps - suspicious little triangle shaped bits removed... as sure sign.

Good thinking quite I few of the yanks at Icast were rigging there baits just the same..they reckon if you leave some room between the hook eye and the weight it helps hook up rates if the fish has gripped the sinker in its teeth.
