Nice one Jade.
I'm out early tomorrow looking for a local king. Hoping all this easterly hasn't stirred it up too much for the kings.

How'd you go Simon? Was plenty of easterly this morning, got a wave in a taka with the kids.

Water was fairly stirred up on Monday but not dirty or anything like that

After some good results in our last few missions things came back down to earth with a thump on saturday. We were camping down at Otama so shot out to one of the islands from Opito on the 3rd. Only got one 35cm snapper and couldn't get a livie all day.  Had a couple of kahawai in the berley but they were super cagey and just wouldn't take a bait, even on soft bait gear.
2 days before the full moon, probably not the best moon phase... that's my excuse anyway!

Just seen this Jade, was ratsh*t mate. Blowing and chooppy. And I struggled to get a livey for ages, dead as.

Will be at Pakiri with TwisterMC from around 9 chasing bronzies today if anyone is in the area.

Will be north of the river, looking like we're up to no good.

Had a crack at Waitapu out at the Manakua heads, looked very good haven't been there for years.
Didn't manage to get anything but had a chat to a few people and hears there is some ggod fishing there...
Might need to go back and have another try?
Anyone now where exactly to go to get a feed

squid, just too darn tasty. i think some people got put off squid by the old cardboard giant squid slabs in the 70s and 80s. baby squid have so much action and flavour, hard for a snapper to pass it up. especially when injected with mashed up pellets and fish oil/pilchards into the sock cavity. bait n berley in one.

Spent 3 days fishing up top coast of Coro over the weekend. Was very tough fishing with KY being spookily scarce. Plenty of small snapper in the 30-40cm range poking about but nothing bigger. Managed to get a couple of nice kingies on Saturday morning though. Mine went 18 on 24, and Gary's went 23 on 18. We were gaffing my fish when we saw another one shadowing it in. Gary wound in his livie and wammo.... amazing effort from Gary as this was his first landbased kingie (and it was his birthday too).

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.

nice one rhm. im doing similar often with curlyz.  or casting paddlerz with a heay jhead and simply winding it through the berley trail.

still prefer  bait fishing as im super lazy and find lures hard work. but definitely fun when in the mood.

i find the squid vicious to be the best lazy mans soft bait, especially with a squid strip on the hook rofl.
