went out at 6. caught up with pedro at 21m. he was pulling a fish as I got to him. turned out to be a cuda. slow start with a cuda and not much else for30/45mins. drifted into 18/19m. paddled back out to 22m and started catching. drifted again and managed 5 snaps.

Home by 9am. awesome morning out with not too many yaks around.

From the domain this morning. Landed 5 different species today: snapper (my PB at about 12lbs), trev (another PB at 8lbs), gurnard, blue cod and leather jacket (woohoo!). Slow start but then bit of a bite came on just before the wind came up. Thought the trev was another big snap, but no such luck.

Bugger Beernayarn no KY to swap for home made spirits !  . Went off Taylors early this morn with Beernayarn and Gurnard. Had a few casts in close but nothing so I went out to 20m and picked up a few snaps on  softies before full sun up - nothing big. Then switched to bait and got a bigger snap and hook chewed off by something big twice. Ended up with 3 snaps for dinner. We all got a feed but was a bit slow.

Bloody nice effort Raymond - 2 PB's awesome ! were you solo or with mates ? Nice feed too Allpom !

Nice fish there Raymond, well done!  Launched about 6.45 this morning and like most it was pretty slow to start with, but I also got onto fish out around 20m mark.  First few were on the small side so back over they went, landed a dozen overall and kept limit plus a nice fat gurnard.  Size seems to be getting better overall than last few weeks

Some good bags lads. Top all round has to go to RLYClap I watched some dude paddling in from way out at the Entrance late this morning. It's hard enough fishing around there in a boat let alone a yak. Finger progress bloody slowCry

Yeah like Museyak said had a tough time off Taylors this morning. Only managed an early 40's and a late 30's snaps. Looks like I'll have to settle for a few beers tonight since there was not a KY in sight. Sorry Chip'n! Good luck to everyone tomorrow, should be good! Congrat's on the PB's RLY, must try the domain some time...

Met Phish at main Domain carpark just after 5.30am already quite light.
He had some " secret marks " from a boat fisho to try out. A never fail spot LOL
It ended up been the reef off Harrisons that everyone uses !
So after paddling all the way down there and then back up to the Domain we finally started fishing but it was very slow. I lucked up 3 snaps one at 47cm and one kahawai ( released sorry Chipn )
Beaut conditions though.

Headed out this morning (around 6.20am) from Taylors. Beautiful morning out there. Paddled out to around 23 meters and fishing was a little slow. Managed a couple just over the 30cm mark then decided to head in about 8.20am. I paddled 3 mins before seeing what looked like good sign on the sounder.

I'm still getting used to reading the Garmin Echo 100 that I got off Trademe for $99 as this was only my third time out with it, but it turned my day around. I drop a softie straight down onto the sign and hooked up right away.

Believe it or not I could see the softie going down under the yak and the mark of the fish coming up to take it. Not bad for a bottom of the range sounder in 21 meters of water. I repeated the process landing 3 more snapper. A couple around the 40cm mark. Great fun. My last hook up was something large. Fought it for 3-4 mins with it pulling plenty of line before my leader broke about half way up. It had been on there for the last few fishing outings and maybe it wasn't in the best shape. Do you guys put fresh leader line on for every mission? I think I might from now on.

Snapper stalker great fishing there. The fishfinder can definitely help when the fishing is tough.

I would always inspect the leader after each trip. Look for fraying and nicks.
