howdy all,

been a while since i put any pics of some green and gold beasts up, but had two trips out over the weekend to check out the kingis

saturday was a bit on the sloppy side and we eased into things with a good dozen ratties

before they started getting bigger

and once we nailed the colour and where the fish were holding we were into some good 15kg models

and finally a nice 18kg fish, our friend from indonesia couldn't quite manage to stand up to hold him for the photo, eventually released to hopefully grown to twice the size

sunday saw some nicer conditions and a group from speights country

kelvin wright nailing this nice 19kg fish the best of the day, loads of other kings caught and released over the day

some sweet kingi action, but not quite as sweet as washing down some fresh kingi sashimi, macadamia crumbed kingi and smoked kingi flaps the last few nights with a few summer ales.....

have a good christmas all
carl

Some good fish there epic.

I notice that most of the fish in your photos are reasonably skinny.  We caught a big pile of them furthur down the coast a couple of weeks ago and they were all fat as and ready to spawn.

Did you get some fat ones too?  just wondering if they have done there spawning thing now?

Gidday Stu
All the bigger ones were long and skinny and had spawned, a few of the bigger ones would have gone well over the 20kg mark with better condition. A lot of fish have moved in close round the Aldys, close to the Sugarloafs and coast as well
can't wait for some sessions in close to shore first thing in the morning with the kingis crashing bait round the boat
cheers
carl
