Thursday night 19.02.15 Headed over to waihau bay from taranaki, arrived about 9.30 at night full of anticipation for the coming days ahead this is our annual pilgrimage to fish the nationals for the waihau bay club

Friday 20.02.15 up at the crack of dawn out on the water as the sun was rising then about mid day into it tag and releasing our first striped marlin of the trip a nice fish 1st est 115kg

Saterday 21.02.15 first day of the nationals after a few too many beers the day before we dragged our selfs out of bed at 4.30am couple coffees`, cheeked the drags and sharpened the hooks and we where back out on the water at sunrise again

10.30 am bang out rigger popped and we where on again

2nd tagged striped marlin for the trip est 90kg

3.30 pm Saturday 21.02.14 bang short rigger poped then bang long rigger sh$t where on to a double with 2pob this made for interesting times lucky the current keep us drifting in a favorable direction and the skipper battled one fish while making slight adjustments at the helm 45min later we had tagged the smaller fish not long after we tagged the second larger fish and released  3rd and 4th striped marlin for the trip

3rd est 90 kg

4th est 115kg

Monday 23.02.15 hooked up again tag and released 5th striped marlin est 90kg

by this time our photography was starting to improve Clap

copple of quite / frustrating days followed with finicky bill rapped and dropped fish

however we did round out an amazing unforgettable trip with a first for the boat, and even better to eat 7.4kg mahi mahi

the result of this epic week was winning top boat for the waihau bay nationals, as a result of being top boat for waihau bay over the nationals we have been granted entry to represent new Zealand in the prestigious 2016 offshore world Championship in costa Rica competing againts the best anglers from all over the world.
