I have been getting a lot of people asking me how to make a belly flap chugger bait for using behind the dredge or as a pitch / swim bait.
While I was guiding a trip in Mexico with a bunch of Kiwis, Grant Dixon from NZ fishing News filmed a short "how to"video.
Check it out, its a great way to use up those belly flaps from bonito or Mahi.

So simple. The pink "chugger head" you used, who stocks those in Auckland.
Those that say it can't be done are being overtaken by those doing it.

Google "mould craft little super chugger".....

Tony do you ever add a chin weight if trolling these as opposed to just skipping em as a pitch bait?

Nah mate the chugger head makes it swim and pop like a lure so no need on this bait, if it did not have the chugger head and you wanted it to swim then a chin weight would work. I like this system as it gives you the best of both worlds and simple to swim, nothing worse than some one throwing over a pitch bait and it starts spinning.
