G'day 

did a quick trip to Noises the Ahaas to try the new Lowrance and also take the tub for a spin - first time in yonks!! 

Caught plenty 28-29cm  snaps-grrrrrrrr- and heaps of small KY and Jack Macks .

Purposefully took bait only as had heaps to get rid of.

Was quite pleased to get a feed including two 2kg Trevs at Ahaas.

BUT - as we had heaps of old pillies that we smashed and cubed for chum we at times ,it seemed, had ALL of Aucklands seabird population behind our vessel who annoyingly gorged themselves Confused.

Mates suggested some time back to take a Super Soaker kids gun with to deter them - any ideas? (besides not dispensing cubed pillies behind boat)

I've been tempted to buy a slingshot and take along some fine gravel to ruffle the birds' feathersEvil Smile  They used to have slingshots at Smartmarine.

Never had problems with pesky birds, mind you we never use burley or bait . Only solution I can see is to use a burley pot and get the burley down lower in the water column, or leave the bait behind. Yes we do catch fish.
