That can be a bit of hard match in terms of 6kg is fairly light and whippy whereas 10kg is not...

TEll us what is your hopeful target and depth, terrain, conditions and rigs, hook sizes, etcBig smile

Do you want to cast out baits or fish closer in maybe a bit of up and down stuff with drifting... flicking an Inchiku or rod holder with whole fish or livey...lots of options.Thumbs Up

In the meantime I have several Shimano Backbones some Elites, two are fixed spool/spim, two are free spool/overhead... these are 7ft and 10-15kg... I reckon these would suit you for straight straylining, as in cast out a dirty big bait with big hooks and hang on!Cool

Yea didn't really think about it to much I meant 6-8kg and 8-10kg .
Will be use mostly over sand stray linens big baits 20meters or less.most fish we catch are only around
The 40-50cm so not after any thing to heavy.just after a light strayline set up on a budget

Kapai and in that turf every chance of a 40lb King biting a small hook or bait and those 6kg rods have piss all lifting power... true strayling needs horsepower as well bro.Wink

there's a 6-10kg too otherwise a 6-10 BBE or similar would match nicely.

you need to cut and paste it to your address bar, but basically:

This has to be the ultimate 'lighter' tackle rod for chasing big snapper and medium sized kingfish on softbaits and braid! At least half the weight of conventional 10KG rods and with a heap more technology poured into it! This rod really just goes to show how far fishing rods have come over the last few years. With a revolutionary new handle design and longitudinal fibers for increased strength this beast has a fast tip and extra powerful butt to really put the hurt on when it counts!

With Fugi Alconite guides and super slim/comfy handle this rod will quickly become the standard to aspire to amongst softbait fisherman across the planet.

Being a two piece rod it is convenient to travel with also. This is a great all round medium salt water softbait/lure chucking rod that will fast become your favourite on the water.

THE ROD
Okuma Braid concept 7'6" 6-10kg
Model BC762
Two Piece
Length: 7'6"
High modulus Graphite
Rated 6-10KG
Top quality Fugi Alconite Ceramic Guides
High quality cork handle
Full Okuma Warranty

(this has been cut and pasted from the page listed, they're not my words as the first bit is O.T.T. , there's plenty of high end rods would have this for breakfast, but for the $ I think it's a good option)
