It is an incredible area with a huge huge variety of species and ways of targeting them. Will you be after snaps or kings? Bait or lures? Have stayed at that campground for three weeks every year for 20 years now so can certainly help out but it's such a versatile area so need a bit of info first

There's a few places you can get to following the tracks over the Rainbow Warrior memorial hill which produce fish. Ideally though see if you can get a local or camper to drop you on one of the islands. The "Castaway" episode of ITM show was filmed in various spots on the surrounding islands

Just stray lining for snaps. I have gear for kings up to 20kg if they are around. Also have squid fishing gear as well.
Is there any fishing to be done within an hours walk from the campground ? Heard it is quite shallow around the camp & fishing can be hard going as there is not much weed/rocks around
The memorial hill sounds great

Was wondering if the campground sells bait & berley like they do at Tauranga bay campground.... when I run out

Thanks guys. Mahinepua looks really good, sussed out marine chart nz5121 Cavali passage, my only concern would be sheltered places when on shore winds happen N, NE especially.... some of that ground swell can get big up there
