Just on radio Blue est 180kg tagged and released on boat "Merciano' I think that was the name .On the 500m line in area "Hiwi the Kiwi" which is the middle ground Temps of 19.3 being talked about

nice, certainly blue and theres been feed out there for over a week, massive effort.
 
you will be suprised how far the influence of that eddy is having, north and east @ real honey pot....

And was just told of a 62kg bigeye caught yesterday by a junior  angler in grid area "Troy Wheeler contracting" which sis wide in the middle ground .It is a pending Club and national record .Think I can hear the sound of Wetspot being furiously dusted

Herewith a photo of the 62.14kg big eye tuna caught by Tim Wheeler (Jnr) on 23 dec 09 fishing from the family boat Reel Obsession.
 
Tim's fish is a pending club and NZ record and I believe the first caught in NZ this season. Also of note his brother Troy is the current club jnr record holder so a family affair indeed.
 
Also of note we have had our first and probably NZ's first T&R blue marlin caught by Mark McDowell today at 10.00 am.
