Daiwa Sealines in their various sizes have long
been the workhorses of recreational fishing tackle. For this season Brittain
Wynyard and Co Ltd have introduced the Sealine 50HD which covers a wide range of
uses from casting and jigging through to trolling. Line capacity is
approximately 400 metres of 15kg or 600 metres of 10. It’s also useful for
anglers who want to fish braid in deep water but do not want to use a larger,
heavier reel.
The retrieve rate is 4.2:1 which, with a full
spool, will get in plenty of line with each crank of the handle, but still
possesses plenty of cranking power for when the pressure comes on.
The 50HSD’s star drag has also been beefed up and
now contains 10 discs for a smoother, longer lasting braking system. This is a
solidly constructed reel that’s built to last, in the mould of its bigger
brothers.
