Precut / prepare all you bait requirements when you have a surfeit of whole bait,mullet,bonito, kahawai etc. Mix with bonito oil and salt and store in old ice cream containers in the freezer. The oil stops the pieces freezing together and it can be used virtually straight out of the freezer. It also means that space in the freezer is utilized fully and her indoors doesn't complain about the smell in the freezer. Mess on the boat in minimised and if your organised you will always have bait on hand
